When Elizabeth, aka Elle, was three years old, her mother, Beth Lynn (after whom she is named), and her father, Vince, divorced. In an interview with The ENQUIRER in the early 2000s, she stated that her dad never called out after divorcing her mother.

With his second wife, Sharise Ruddell, a mud wrestler and model, Neil welcomed his third child and youngest daughter, Skylar Lynnae Neil, on March 26, 1991.

The then-4-year-old Skylar was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor, a kidney cancer affecting children, in April 1995, following two years of his divorce from Ruddel. His child went through extreme treatment (six operations, chemotherapy, and radiation), however, all in vain.

After four months of her battle with cancer, she died on August 15, 1995. Before her death, As a tribute to his daughter, he wrote ‘Skylar’s Song‘ in his 1995 solo album Carved in Stone.
