Jaclyn Jose, a Filipino actress who dedicated more than four decades to the Philippine film industry, died at 60 on March 2, 2024. Amid tragedy, there’ve been rising queries about the late actress’s relationship- if she was married and had a husband.
The two-time Luna Award winner was famously in a short-lived relationship with late actor Mark Gil in the 1990s. It led many to assume that she was one of his wives. However, Jose was never married but mothered two children with her ex-boyfriends.
The Zorro actress is survived by her two grown-up kids, a son named Gwen and a daughter, Andi. Like Jaclyn, her daughter, Andi, also stepped into the glam world of modeling and acting but has been out of the on-screen scene since 2018.

Was Jaclyn Jose’s Husband Mark Gil? Did She Divorce?
Jose, who played Rosa in the 2016 film Ma’ Rosa, never got into a marital bond, so the talk of her husband and divorce is a far cry. Instead, she had a couple of failed relationships- from whom she became the mother of two.
The late Filipino actor Mark Gil (b. September 25, 1961- d. September 1, 2014) is one of her ex-boyfriends, but many think he and Jaclyn were married.
The former duo met on the set of Itanong Mo Sa Buwan in 1988. Later, they began dating and were in a relationship for two years until 1991.
During a “D’Originals” press conference in April 2017, she shared her story of being the “other woman” in someone’s life during her early days in showbiz.
While Jose didn’t name her lover initially, she later revealed that it was none other than a Batch ’81 actor, Ralph Gil Eigenmann, aka Mark Gil. However, she did not know that the Zuma actor was married.
At that time, Gil was still married to his first wife, actress Bing Pimentel– the mother of his two kids, Sid Lucero and Maxine Eve.

Jaclyn Welcomed A Daughter With Mark: She Is Also An Actor
While in a relationship with Gil, Jaclyn became a mother of a daughter, Andrea Nicole Guck “Andi” Eigenmann, born on June 25, 1990. As of now, Andi is 33 Years years old and has a height of 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 m).
She is Filipino by nationality and has mixed ethnicity (German-American from her mother’s side and Swiss-Spanish on her father’s side).

With her ex-boyfriend, actor Jake Ejercito, son of former Philippine President Joseph Estrada, she gave birth to their daughter Adrianna Gabrielle “Ellie” Eigenmann on November 23, 2011. They broke up in 2014.

After splitting from Mark Gil, the Batang Quiapo actress began dating Kenneth Ilagan (b. July 28, 1971). He is a Filipino musician who was the lead guitarist of the rock band The Dawn.
Her and Kenneth’s relationship began in 1999, and they lived together for six years until 2005. They had an age gap of eight years, with Jaclyn (b. October 21, 1963) being senior.
After two years of their split, Jose opened up about their relationship in 2007 during an interview with Funfare.
“My relationship with Kenneth is my longest ever. It lasted for more than six years.”
Further, she opened up about the reason for the break up; Kenneth reportedly cheated on her with another woman.

Jaclyn Jose Died At 60: Obituary And Cause Of Death
On March 2, 2024, the Filipino actress Jaclyn Jose died at the age of 60. PPL Entertainment broke the news of her death via an Instagram post that read, “It saddens us to inform everyone of the untimely passing of Miss Jaclyn Jose (real name Mary Jane Guck).”
As reported, she was discovered lying unconscious at her home in Quezon City and was pronounced dead.
The PNP spokesperson, Col. Jean Fajardo, said there was no foul play at the scene while asking to respect the family’s privacy.
Later, on March 4, 2024, during a press conference, Jose’s daughter, Andi, cited that the cause of her mother’s death was a heart attack. With a shaky voice and tears in her eyes, she said,
“I announce the untimely passing of my Nanay, Mary Jane Guck, better known as Jaclyn Jose, at the age of 60 on the morning of March 2nd, 2024 due to a myocardial infarction also known as heart attack.”
