When Did Parham Maghsoodloo Meet His Wife, Sanaz Esmaili?
In September 2018, Maghsoodloo confirmed during an interview with ChessBase India that he didn’t have a girlfriend. Also, he added that it was “very soon” to be dating and wanted to focus on his chess career.
Just a year later, in 2019, the Iranian chess star met his future wife, Sanaz, which he confirmed during a November 2023 interview with ChessBase India at FIDA Grand Swiss 2023. When asked how long he knew his wife, the chess player stated it was ‘four years’ ago.
He also expressed gratitude to his partner, Esmaili, and his second, Ahmad Asgarizadeh, an international master, who helped him enhance his performance. At that time, he had a career-high FIDE rating of 2742.
Parham finished #6 in the 2023 Grand Swiss, behind German grandmaster Vincent Keymer (#5), while Vidit Gujrathi emerged victorious.
