Garver and Sarah have known each other since their mid-teens. On June 3, 2022, in a podcast interview with AWM Capital, Sarah Garver (nee Jogi) elaborated on her courtship with the baseball star and their journey to marriage and parenthood.
They were reportedly 15/16 when they met at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Even if they had met earlier in high school, it ‘was not until their sophomore year that the two started talking as they had a chemistry class together.’

Garver leaped into his dating story after he proposed to Sarah on December 5, 2013. Their engagement came after the Minnesota Twins picked him in the 9th round of the 2013 MLB draft; it was also Sarah’s last year as an undergraduate at UNM.
Starting in 2014, Mitch’s then-fiance (now wife) went to Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine in Oregon. As a result, the two had a long-distance relationship for a couple of years.
After two years of engagement, the duo married in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on December 19, 2015. Until that point, she was a grad student while Mitch juggled through minor baseball leagues, making little money.
